Derek Dowsett is the Producer of the County Seat. Now entering his 11th season of the program, he has received what he considers a "Crash Course" in County Government.

A dispute with the Forest Sertvice over access to Tombstone’s water began after flooding wiped out the town’s water supply in the surrounding mountains. Part of the problem was that these areas are part of a designated wilderness area making access with the required machinery difficult. Not because of the difficulty of actually getting the tools there but because of the restrictions created by the areas designation as Wilderness.

On this week’s episode of The County Seat, host Chad Booth will examine the division between government controlled public lands and how they affect rural communities.
