Segment 1: Convention Centers

You may not realize it, but convention centers are central to quality of life and growth in your county. Not everyone likes to be taxed a lot, so convention centers are a way for county governments to help subsidize quality of life and general growth in their counties through attracting convention dollars. TRT and TRCC taxes are at the heart of the way many projects throughout a county are funded and those taxes are paid by visitors. In this segment, Malia Bascom presents a report on the background of county convention centers.

Segment 2: Convention Centers Round Table Pt. 1

Earlier, we mentioned how conventions bring in TRT and TRCC tax dollars to help with quality of life projects among other functions. In this segment, we discuss how TRT and TRCC funding is collected and how that money is spent within the county. It's clean tax dollars that go to improving lives of county residents.

Segment 3: Convention Centers Round Table Pt. 2

We continue our discussion in this segment about tourism taxes and how convention centers help build community pride, and a sense of togetherness for residents. Conventions are also about giving visitors a taste of the place you live, and perhaps enticing them to relocate there either personally or professionally.

Segment 4: Convention Centers Round Table Pt. 3

In our final segment, we discuss some of the upcoming projects and events in Utah, Washington, and Salt Lake counties that are funded by tourism tax dollars brought in by the County Convention and Visitors Bureaus.
