Juan Palma is the Director of the Bureau of Land Management in Utah. The BLM manages 22.9 million acres of land within Utah, about 42% of the state. With so much federally managed land in the state you can imagine that it will have some effect on local governments. We caught up with director Palma to talk about where the BLM stands on several topics ranging from land planning to the department's initiative to get youth more involved outdoors.
