Who is responsible for Wild Land Fire Suppression? It depends on who the land belongs to. Some counties have a large portion of federal lands within there county. In those cases the federal government is responsible for the costs associated with Wild Land Fires. However, the counties are responsible for all private unincorporated lands within their counties, and have to find ways to not only pay for the damage caused by fire, but also protect their residence from Wild Land Fires. So what are Wild Land Fires, and how does the county budget for fighting them, Terry Wood has the story.
