Segment 1: Community Impact Board

When resource development takes place on Utah's Public Lands the royalties are shared with the State. Part of the money that comes in from oil and gas development is available to the impacted communities in the form of grants or low interest loans. The funds are controlled by a group call the Community Impact Board. Their job is to award money for projects and make sure that the fund remains a permanent fund for future community development.

Would more Wilderness, National Monuments and Parks be good for Utah's Economy. What is the right balance for resource development and setting aside land for permanent protection.

Is Wilderness the best designation for public lands in Utah? Some argue that there is an economic benefit to designating more Wilderness, Monuments and Parks in the state as a way to stimulate tourism. The counties argue that this locks up the land from future development that will bring wealth to the state through balanced resource development.

Segment 4: Community Impact Board Round Table Pt. 3

The panel wraps up the discussion on how much Wilderness is appropriate in the state and how we could create the protection for the land while also having the ability to manage the resource.
