Flaming gorge dam was built in 1956 as part of the Colorado River Storage Projects Act. Every spring Flaming Gorge Dam floods the river to create wetlands for endangered fish to spawn. This flood is having big impact on the land owners and users of the green river below the dam. Some farmers are losing acres of land due to the high runoff.
