Earlier this week we had an opportunity to join Senator Orin Hatch as he toured Bears Ears with local citizens and local elected officials. The key central part of the debate really still centers
around whether there was a need for it and whether the local people actually wanted it. It became obvious on the tour that our perceptions of what was taking place that led up to the monument is not the same as the local people have. So we decided that we would share some of our conversations from this day with you.
