Terry Wood takes us to “the last frontier’ of fruit producing land in the state. As the state’s population has grown, urban sprawl has consumed much of the prime land for fruit and vegetable production. The problem is agricultural land is often worth much more to the farmer for development than the crops that are produced their. The questions we have to ask now is whether we want to continue growing houses or if we value locally produced fruit and vegetables.
