Uintah County recently built a new library for the community. A large part of the funding for the project came from the Community Impact Board. The Community Impact Board, or CIB, manages a permanent fund that is funded by royalties that come from oil, gas, and coal production on public lands. Communities from across the state can seek grants and low interest loans from the CIB to help finance projects in communities that are impacted by energy development. The CIB has helped fund a number of transportation, water, and building projects throughout the state.
