Derek Dowsett is the Producer of the County Seat. Now entering his 11th season of the program, he has received what he considers a "Crash Course" in County Government.

Garfield County declared a state of emergency for its school district a couple weeks ago but what does that mean?

This episode of the County Seat will look at the impact that a changing economy has on the community of Escalante Utah. The perfect storm of unfortunate events all hit the local sawmill at once and it now sits in ruin despite the community’s efforts to keep the mill alive. The demise of the sawmill cost about 60 jobs to the community. The program will look at the impact that these changes can have on a community and beyond.
