Working from home, aka the “new normal”, has some advantages that go beyond the apparent conveniences of not trekking to the office each day.
The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the adoption of remote work by some businesses and most businesses have seen some kind of disruption to how work gets done. But before the pandemic, the concept of spreading job opportunities around the state prompted a program called the Rural Online Initiative.
The Rural Online Initiative program, or ROI, helps people in Rural Utah obtain the skills to work remotely. This week on the County Seat we will talk to Paul Hill, a USU extension professor and Darin Bushman, a Piute County Commissioner, about the genesis of the program and the exciting results communities are seeing.
